How to Install and Rekey a Sliding Door Plunger Lock
What comes in the box and how each Olympus sliding door plunger lock goes in, from the Olympus installation and rekeying instructions. Push lock hole sizes are at the end.
300SD and 400SD sliding door plunger locks
In the box: 2 nickel plated keys, 2 lock mounting screws, 1 matching thimble strike, 1 machine thread (10-24) bolt extender and 1 machine thread (10-24) strike locator.
- Mark the strike: use the strike locator to mark the correct location for the strike.
- Install the strike: fit the matching thimble strike at the marked location.
- Wide gap between the doors? Use the optional bolt extender for excessive gaps in bypassing doors. Maximum bolt projection with the threaded bolt extender is 27/32".

Rekeying the 300SD and 400SD
These locks do not need to be removed from the cabinet to be rekeyed.
- Open the lock (the cylinder projects forward).
- Find the "speed release" button on the left side of the projected cylinder and press it with a sharp tool. The cylinder will spring forward.
- Turn the key 1/4 turn and pull the cylinder forward out of the lock.
- Pull up the retaining pin at the rear of the cylinder. Rekey the cylinder either with a follow tool to remove the plug, or through the top slide.
- After keying, hold the bolt steady and reinsert the cylinder while pressing the speed release. The cylinder realigns itself and snaps back into place.
Olympus Lock sells replacement keys and keeps custom keying records on file for adding locks later.
722S and 722S-TBM SFIC plunger locks
In the box: 725-1 spacer to fit 6 or 7 pin cores, 725-PA plastic thumbturn, matching strike and lock mounting hardware. The 722S-TBM (through-bolt mount) also includes through-bolt plates and screws. Cores are not included.
Door thickness: max. 1-7/8"; min. 5/8" for the TBM version.

Installing the SFIC core (722S and 723S)
- Make sure the prongs inside the lock body are at the angle shown in the Olympus instructions, with the lock fully locked or fully unlocked.
- Insert the key labeled CONTROL into the core and turn it slightly clockwise to the 1:00 position. This retracts the locking bar.
- With the CONTROL key at 1:00, insert the core all the way into the lock body.
- Return the CONTROL key to 12:00 and remove it. The core is now locked into the lock body.
- To remove the core, reverse these steps.

Frequently asked questions
How do you install a sliding door plunger lock?
For the 300SD and 400SD: mount the lock with the two mounting screws, use the included strike locator to mark where the strike goes, and install the matching thimble strike. If the gap between the bypassing doors is wide, add the bolt extender. Maximum bolt projection with the extender is 27/32".
Do I have to remove a 300SD or 400SD to rekey it?
No. These locks do not need to be removed from the cabinet to be rekeyed. The speed-release button lets the cylinder come out of the front of the lock.
How do I put an SFIC core into a 722S or 723S?
Turn the CONTROL key slightly clockwise to the 1:00 position to retract the locking bar, insert the core all the way, then return the key to 12:00 and remove it. Reverse the steps to remove the core.
Can the 723S go on wood or metal doors as well as glass?
Yes. The Olympus 723S installation sheet shows glass, metal and wood installations. Material thickness is adjusted with an "O" ring or by changing the screw length (7/16", 3/4" or 1" screws are included).
